The Belmont Showcase Series is a Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business driven/funded initiative designed to expose its students to the operations of full-scale concert production, to showcase Belmont student talent, and to encourage/build a sense of community between Belmont University students and the Nashville music industry.
The series helps further the college’s goals of 1) providing a career-oriented and practical education that emphasizes leadership, innovation, private enterprise, and entrepreneurship, and 2) equipping students with the tools to think critically, communicate effectively, accept responsibility, make successful decisions, and prosper in diverse work environments by giving students an opportunity to practice concert production, show promotion, event management (including budget management), and leading a vision.
Each year, students produce six full-scale concerts in our Curb Event Center with an average of 1500 audience members per show. Working with industry professionals like Bandit Lites, Clair Audio, MooTV, ASCAP and BMI, the Belmont Showcase Series seeks to highlight student talent onstage and backstage. |
