Air ralley

Showcase Winner

"Formed in 2011, Air Ralley started in singer Kevin Campbell’s basement while the band was still in middle school. Five years later, the members, now seniors in High School have released their first EP titled, “Oh, How Your Mind Wanders” produced by Underoath singer/drummer Aaron Gillespie."

BLACKWOOD ROW

"Blackwood Row is a Nashville-based Folk/Americana band that takes from the soaring harmonies of traditional gospel hymns and incorporates a modern, alternative twist. Their unique sound pulls influence from various folk artists like The Lumineers, Fleetwood Mac, Of Monsters & Men, and Mumford & Sons, but it also gives homage to classic rock and the down-home style of Nashville. Raquelle Blackwood, the leader and namesake of the group, consistently writes authentic songs that helps create the group’s innovative sound. After meeting for the first time at Belmont University in their freshmen year, this group of current juniors instantly connected to create what would become Blackwood Row. Landon Pate adds a certain amount of grit with a second voice and incredible talent on the banjo. The wildly talented Keith Pai is known to steal the show with his electric guitar solos, and there is never a dull moment with Laurence Freeman on the bass. Tony Cianchetta provides some light jazz with the piano, Andrew Gardner locks in the groove on drums, and Adam Kujawa brings violin to complement the melodies provided by both vocalists.Blackwood Row is eager to break into the Nashville music market, and they relish any opportunity to perform for their fans. The first single released by the group is entitled “Werewolf” and can be found on SoundCloud, and an EP of the same title is set to be released on the 9th of September."

Life in a tree

"This prodigious group of youngsters has been building a buzz in the Milwaukee music scene ever since they got their start back in 8th grade. Alt-indie-rockers, Life In A Tree, make music with a depth and authenticity seldom seen in our millennial pop-culture. Their music has been described as thought provoking lyrics wrapped in hook-filled melodies. Their sound is built on the fusion of three-vocalists producing a kaleidoscope of tones that is fresh and indelible. With over five years of performing live together, Life In A Tree, has been fortunate to have grown up playing on the main stages of Summerfest. They have had the privilege of performing there eight times and sharing the stage with many national acts such as Collective Soul, Tonic, Pentatonix, Gavin Degraw, Matt Nathanson, Willie Porter and more. Recently, they were finalists in the 2017 ‘US Bank Tour Possible’ competition. In 2016, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) nominated them in two adult categories for “best alternative rock band” and “best female vocalist”, while still under the age of 18. This quartet consists of Molly Lutz(lead vocals/bass), Tyler Miller(guitar/vocals), DJ Underwood(guitar/vocals) and Jimmy Cooper(drums). With an EP and an LP under their belt, they just released their second full-length album "Say Goodbye to the Nighttime Skies", a themed album that embraces the struggles and insecurities of life and overcoming them. “The songs focus in on conquering the more difficult times of life and ‘saying goodbye’ to them and starting a new chapter,” says Jimmy. "It is important for us to write about what is real and honest in our everyday lives with some emotional depth that hopefully resonates with fans," remarks guitarist Underwood. “We named the album, 'Say Goodbye to the Nighttime Skies' as sort of a metaphor for people going through darker times in their life to never lose hope and faith, to realize that the ‘nighttime skies’ will pass and brighter skies are on the horizon," Tyler says. "We want to affect as many people as we can in a thoughtful and meaningful way,” adds Molly. “It’s all about our listeners. We truly believe that with them, anything is possible."
